Hey friend,
A new episode of the Dear Christian Girl Podcast is out, and my guest is Tolulope Mike-Bamiloye—a Christian actress, registered dietitian and nutritionist, and host of the Truth Talk with Ted YouTube show. She’s also a wife and mom of two handsome boys.
Tolu explained the story of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis 22 in a way I had never heard before.
God gave Abraham a very specific instruction and told him to go to the land of Moriah and offer Isaac as a burnt offering on one of the mountains He would show him.
The provision was waiting for Abraham at the place God had instructed him to go.
God had already prepared the ram that would take Isaac’s place but Abraham had to follow the instruction and go to the mountain God had prepared for him.
It made me think about how easy it is to obey God generally while avoiding the specifics of what He is actually asking us to do.
Tolu put it this way:
“You need to obey to the letter, obey the specifics. When God has given specific instructions, there is provision He has made available for that exact assignment.”
Sometimes, we want God to show us the provision before we obey and we want to know how everything will work out before we take the first step.
But what if God is asking you to take the step first?
We go deeper into this in the episode, including what it has looked like for Tolu to follow God’s specific instructions in her own life, even when she didn’t fully understand where they were leading.
If you’re in a season where you know God has told you to do something specific, but you’re hesitating because you can’t yet see how it will all work out, this episode is for you.
