Netflix Dropped Her Film. She Lost Her Baby, yet she Still Calls God Good

She lost her Netflix deal, drowned in debt, and lost her baby at 6 months. She still calls God good...

I sat down with the incredible Joyful Adenike for the latest episode of Dear Christian Girl podcast and if you don’t know Joyful, let me introduce her properly.

She’s a filmmaker, director, and producer known for creating compelling stories. She is the creative mind behind films like Summer Rain and Chemistry and she’s currently working on her newest film, Tele x Zikora. Beyond film, she’s an author, content creator, wife, mum and she’s a woman who wears many hats beautifully.

In this conversation, she walked me through some of the hardest seasons of her life. Her film, Chemistry, was dropped by Netflix at the last minute. She found herself drowning in debt and even became an Uber driver just to stay afloat. Then, in the middle of it all, she experienced the heartbreaking loss of her baby at six months of pregnancy.

And then she hit rock bottom!

But through all of it, she still calls God good.

If you’re in a hard season and need to hear from someone who has walked through one of life’s deepest valleys and still came out declaring that God is good, this episode is for you.

And even if life is going well right now, but you simply need a story that will strengthen your faith and remind you of God’s faithfulness, this conversation is for you too.
